Honda Hornet 2.0 Based Adventure Bike Is In Works!

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) is quite in talks these days with the launch of H'Ness CB 350. Now once again Honda has made headlines as the brand is examining the possibility of an adventure motorcycle for the Indian market, based on the Hornet 2.0's platform.

Atsushi Ogata, President, CEO, and MD, HMSI has revealed that Hornet 2.0 platform can be used for different categories including the adventure segment. Further, he indicated that the upcoming adventure bike will have a small capacity engine like 160cc or 200cc. Hence, we are likely to see different avatars of Hornet 2.0 like the CB190 has in China, and so we believe the ADV's styling could be similar to the Honda CBF190X.

Beside the platform of the Honda Hornet 2.0, the upcoming adventure bike could also use the Hornet 2.0's engine, which is an air-cooled,184.4cc fuel-injected, single-cylinder unit, paried to a 5-speed gearbox. It produces 17PS and 16.1Nm.

The Hornet 2.0 claims to offer best-in-segment mid-range torque. Honda might tweak the engine's tuning in order to match the character of the bike.

Currently, the Honda Hornet 2.0 is priced at Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Its adventure version will surely demand a premium over its price. Once launched, the Honda ADV will take on the likes of Hero Xpluse 200.
