India's largest fuel retailer, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC), in association with Home Mechanic, has launched a doorstep car servicing and repair facility in Delhi called "Home-Mechanic IND" service. Using this facility, customers can avail of over 300 types of car repair/maintenance & other types of services at their desired places.
Customers can book the service via the Home-Mechanic website or through their Whatsapp number, and then a service team of three members will be assigned the duty on-site. The workshop-on-wheel or the mobile mechanic van will be equipped with various tools, spare parts, diagnostic tools, a variety of Servo oil & lubricants, and other necessary tools to perform the repair/maintenance task. Customers can also avail of services like car washing, polishing, and sanitization.
Indian Oil will soon expand the service in serval other cities, and Mumbai will be the second city to get the service. Currently, Indian Oil has nearly 30,000 fuel stations across the country, so the potential to extend the service chain is immense. However, it will depend upon the customer's responses.

Commenting on this initiative, Kunaal R., CEO of Home-Mechanic, said-
“Home-Mechanic is the first ever provider of 300 plus car repairs and services at the customer’s doorstep. We have created the mech-mobile using high-tech equipment which helps our technicians fix 90 percent of vehicle problems at the customers’ home. No more do they have to depend on their own or workshop chauffeurs to pick and drop their cars to service stations that are miles away. They also save time, as average time to complete the job is 3 hours vs. one day at a workshop. Our association with Indian Oil strengthens our ability to reach out to more customers and provide them hassle free servicing. We aim to expand to Mumbai in the coming month, thereby entering newer terrains.”

Besides the fuel retailing operations, IOC also operates its lubricant business under the "Servo" brand. With the help of doorstep service, Indian-oil is not only venturing into the automobile maintenance sector, but it will also help the company to expand its lubricant business. Apart from this, the brand is also working towards developing electric vehicle charging points at its fuel pumps across India.
