MG Motor is gearing up to launch a new EV for the Indian market that will be based on the Wuling Cloud EV sold globally. A recent trademark filing from MG has confirmed that it is likely to be called the “Windsor EV’ in the Indian market. MG will officially reveal the CUV’s name on August 5.
MG Windsor EV – Expected Battery Pack and Range
Globally, the Wuling Cloud EV has two battery pack options: a 37.9kWh pack with a 360km range and a 50.6kWh pack with a 460km range. It comes equipped with a front-axle mounted permanent magnet synchronous (PMS) motor developing a max power output of 134PS. However, it is yet to be seen which battery pack will be offered in its Indian version.

Design and Features
Based on the teaser, the upcoming MG CUV clearly resembles the Cloud EV, which is known for its sleek and modern curvy design. The teaser reveals full-width LED light bars at the front, giving the vehicle a distinctive and striking look. It also confirms the presence of fully reclinable front seats, known as “SOFA MODE,” offering a 135-degree backseat recline for enhanced comfort.
Expected Price and Rivals
MG is likely to price the Cloud EV under Rs 20 lakh in India, positioning it between the Air EV and ZS EV in their lineup. This pricing would place it in direct competition with the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
