2024 Nissan XTrail – Design and Features

Offered in the base-spec trim, the Indian-spec Nissan X-Trail looks identical to its global counterpart, except for the larger 20-inch alloy wheels replacing the 17-inch units found internationally. Additionally, the Indian-spec X-Trail comes with a panoramic sunroof, a feature not available in the International version.

It also comes equipped with automatic LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, auto-dimming rearview mirror, various driving modes, cruise control, paddle shifters, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, wireless smartphone charger, rain-sensing wipers, seven airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.

Compared to the other SUVs in its segment, it misses features like leatherette seats, ventilated front seats, and ADAS.

Propulsion Duties

Beneath the hood, the Indian-spec Nissan X-Trail 2024 houses a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine (163PS/300Nm), paired with a 12V mild-hybrid system. Transmission duties are taken care of by a CVT automatic gearbox, propelling the front wheel of the SUV.

Globally, Nissan also offers the X-Trail with a strong hybrid system (e-power) and an all-wheel-drive (e-4orce) option.

Competition Check

In the full-size SUV segment, the Nissan X-Trail will lock horns with the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, and soon-to-be-facelifted MG Gloster.
