Citroen e-SpaceTourer Under Consideration For India Launch

Amid growing demand for premium MPVs in the country, Citroen is reportedly considering bringing its e-SpaceTourer to our shores. Given the ongoing India-UK FTA talks, this could be launched at a very attractive price despite being a full import.

About Citroen e-SpaceTourer

The SpaceTourer is a premium MPV that is designed to offer spaciousness, comfort and zero tailpipe emissions. It is available in two body lengths, M (4.98M) and XL (5.53M) and can accommodate up to 9 people. It boasts an upright, boxy silhouette, with a clean and simple design. Globally, it is available with both diesel and electric powertrain options.

Its longer-wheelbase electric version (XL), which is being evaluated for India, gets a 75kWh battery that claims a WLTP-claimed range of 348km on a single charge. On the other hand, the e-SpaceTourer with a shorter wheelbase comes with a smaller 49kWh battery with a claimed range of up to 320 km.

Available in multiple seating configurations, the e-SpaceTourer is aimed at offering the utmost comfort inside the cabin. In some seating configurations, the 2nd row seats even get a swivelling function with fold-out tray tables.

While the Citroen e-SpaceTourer doesn’t match the sheer luxury levels of premium MPVs like the Kia Carnival, Kia EV9, or the upcoming MG M9, it makes up for it with a strong focus on practicality, space, and everyday usability. Instead of plush materials and high-end tech, the e-SpaceTourer offers smart seating flexibility, multiple USB ports, sliding rear doors for easy access, and ample luggage space. It also includes essentials like a 10-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, a 3D navigation system, digital cluster, automatic climate control, individual seats in rear rows, folding table, and a suite of safety features such as lane departure warning and automatic emergency braking—making it a functional and reliable choice for large families and fleet buyers.

Upon launch, the Citroen e-SpaceTourer could fit between the BYD eMAX7 and the upcoming MG M9.
