MG M9 EV Range, Features, and Colour Options Revealed

JSW MG Motor India has officially revealed the detailed specifications, range and feature details of the upcoming M9 EV ahead of its launch. Bookings for the M9 luxury electric MPV are already underway for Rs 51,000. It is expected to be priced between Rs 65 – 70 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be sold via MG’s premium dealership network called ‘MG Select’. Once launched, it will lock horns with the Kia EV9.

MG M9 EV – Battery, Range, and Charging Time

  • MG M9 EV will be equipped with a 90kWh NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) battery, offering a claimed range of 548 km on a single charge.
  • Compared to traditional lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, the NMC chemistry delivers higher energy density, enabling a longer range in a single charge. It also supports faster charging and performs better in cold weather conditions, making it well-suited for a wider range of driving applications.
  • It can be charged up in just 90 minutes with the help of a 160kW DC fast charger. However, an 11kW AC charger will take around 10 hours for the same.
  • Powering the M9 will be a front axle-mounted motor, rated at 245PS and 350Nm.

Did You Know? Did you know that NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) batteries are actually a type of lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery and not a completely separate category? It’s a common misconception, but NMC is simply one of the many chemistries under the Li-ion umbrella.
