BSA Gold Star 650 Launched In India At Rs 3 Lakh

Classic Legends has officially launched the iconic British motorcycle brand BSA (Birmingham Small Arms) in India with the legendary Gold Star 650 retro roadster priced from Rs 2,99,999 (ex-showroom). The brand has offered it in six colourways.

Do You Know: BSA, originally the Birmingham Small Arms Company, was once the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer and is a symbol of British industrial heritage with a history dating back to 1861.

BSA Gold Star – Design and Features

The design of the all-new BSA Gold Star is truly British, featuring a round headlamp, a long tear-shaped fuel tank with chrome detailing, a retro-styled single-piece seat, pea-shooter chrome finished exhaust, and chrome finished engine crankcase, giving it a retro and premium appeal.

It also gets a new BSA logo on the fuel tank, twin-pod instrument cluster with digital inset on both the pods, an anti-theft engine immobiliser, a USB charging port, a wide handlebar with mid-set footpegs for an upright riding posture. 

BSA Gold Star – Underpinnings

Based on the double-cradle frame, this new BSA bike consist of a 41mm telescopic fork, preload-adjustable rear twin gas charged shock absorbers, and spoke wheels (18-inches front and 17-inch rear) with 100-section front and 150-section rear Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tyres tires. Braking is handled via 320mm front and 255mm rear disc brakes, aided by a dual-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS). 

BSA Gold Star Engine

Powering the Gold Star is a 652cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine which makes 45.6PS at 6500rpm and 55Nm of peak torque at 4000rpm. It comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

Competition Check

In the 650cc roadster segment, the BSA Gold Star will face competition from the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, which is priced between Rs 3.03 – 3.31 lakh (ex-showroom).
