Ola Roadster X, Roadster and Roadster Pro Electric Motorcycles Launched

Debuted in 2021 with the S1 range of electric scooters, Ola Electric has now launched its first electric motorcycle series, which has been making headlines for a long time. Dubbed as ”Ola Roadster” series, it will comprise three models: Roadster X, Roadster, and Roadster Pro. Here’s all you need to know about them –

  • Frame: Modular double cradle frame compatible with various battery configurations

Ola Roadster Series: Features

Depending on the model, these bikes will be loaded with features like all-LED lamps, TFT cluster, advanced ABS modes include Race, Urban, Rain, and Off-Road, along with cornering ABS, Emergency SOS, speed limit alerts, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with adaptive cruise control, collision alerts, and overtake assist. For performance enhancements, they will boasttraction modes, turbo boost, race modes, e-suspension control, and cornering lights enhance the riding experience.

Availability

  • Bookings: Open from today.
  • Experience Centers: The bikes will be available for viewing at Ola’s experience centers within the next two months.
  • Deliveries: Deliverirs of the Roadster X and Roadster will start in Q4 FY25, while for the Roadster Pro, buyers will be required to wait until Q4 of FY26.

Ola MoveOS 5

Ola has announced its upcoming MoveOS 5, which is claimed to be their most significant OTA update yet. This update will include several new features: –

  1. Navigation by Ola Maps: This feature will include Group Navigation, allowing users to see the locations of friends during group trips. It also includes live location sharing.
  2. Performance Enhancements: Users can expect a 3% increase in range, 15% faster public charging, 15% higher range accuracy, and the addition of TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System).
  3. AI Assistant – Ola Kratirim: A new smart AI assistant designed to enhance the user experience.

The BETA release of MoveOS 5 is scheduled for Diwali 2024.

Ola Gen 3 Platform

Ola is making significant advancements with the introduction of its Gen 3 platform for its upcoming electric bikes and scooters (EVs). Building on the success of the Gen 2 platform, which doubled the volume, the Gen 3 platform integrates the motor, battery, and electronics into a single unit. This integration results in a 14% reduction in weight while simultaneously increasing power output. Additionally, the evolution from 10 ECUs (Electronic Control Units) in Gen 1 to 4 ECUs in Gen 2 will continue with the Gen 3 platform, further reducing wiring complexity and enhancing overall efficiency.

Upcoming Ola Products

  • Ola has also unveiled its future roadmap for electric scooters, which includes the upcoming S1 Sports and the S2 and S3 series. The S2 series will feature three models: S2 City, S2 Tourer, and S2 Sports. Meanwhile, the S3 series will include the S3 Grand Adventure and S3 Grand Tourer. Although these models have been announced, their official launch timelines have yet to be revealed.
  • More bikes will be introduced by Ola in Sports, Adventure and Cruiser series in the coming future.
