Bookings For 5-seater Volkswagen Tiguan Facelift Commenced Unofficially

Pre-Launch Bookings for the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan Facelift have commenced unofficially at select dealerships across the country for a token amount of Rs 50,000. Unveiled in March 2021, the updated 5-seater SUV was supposed to be launched in May month. But the sudden surge in Covid-19 cases in the country led the brand to push its launch to June 2021.

Compared to Tiguan's previous model (discontinued in April 2020), the facelifted Tiguan will come solely with a petrol engine, whereas the pre-facelift model was a diesel-only offering. That said, the new Tiguan SUV will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that is proficient enough in producing 190PS/320Nm. The engine will come mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that will send the power to all four wheels with an all-wheel drivetrain.

As for exterior changes, the facelifted Tiguan gets a redesigned front facia, featuring a new three-slatted chrome grille, dual-barrel LED matrix IQ headlamps and redesigned front bumper. Changes on the sides are restricted to the revised 18-inch alloy wheels, whereas at the back, it gets updated tail lamps and rear bumper. Besides, the 2021 Tiguan will also debut Volkswagen's new logo in our country.

The upgraded SUV will also come with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, connected car tech, panoramic sunroof, tri-zone climate control, rear AC vents, cruise control, powered tailgate, an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, slidable rear bench and many more. Safety will be covered by six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), hill start and descent assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system, etc.
