BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé Gets A New Black Shadow Limited Edition, Priced At Rs 42.30 Lakh

BMW has launched a new Black Shadow Edition of its entry-level sedan, 2 Series Gran Coupe in India at Rs 42.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Only 24 units of this special edition variant will be available in our country, and it can only be booked via BMW’s online retail platform from 7th December 2020.

Black Shadow Edition (NEW)

The Black Shadow Edition is based on the 220d M Sport variant and carries a premium of Rs 90,000 over its donor trim. For the premium, it gets a high-gloss shadow line package along with M Performance parts worth Rs 2.5 lakh. This added exclusive kit includes a new blacked-out mesh-pattern kidney grille, matte black forged-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels with floating hubcaps, black wing mirror caps, black finished rear spoiler, and darkened chrome garnished exhaust pipe. 

Inside, it gets the same styled cabin as the regular 220d variant, except for the black upholstery. 

As far as the features are concerned, the Black Shadow Edition shares its equipment list with the standard 220d M Sport. It gets full LED headlamps, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, voice recognition, and gesture control, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, rear-view camera, reversing assistant, BMW digital key, 6-airbags, ABS with BA (brake assist), traction control, cornering brake control, dynamic stability control, etc. 

The 2 Series gran Coupe Black Shadow edition is offered in two exterior paint schemes – Alpine White and Black Sapphire.

BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Black Shadow Edition – Engine

The Black Shadow Edition is available with the same 2.0-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine that also powers the regular 220d variants. It generates 190PS of maximum power and 400Nm of peak torque and drives the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. It can sprint from 0-100kmph in just 7.5 seconds.

Rivals

Currently, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe doesn’t have any direct competitor in the Indian market.

The Black Shadow Edition can be an attractive alternative for the customers who want to enjoy the exclusivity of a visually standing out product. However, considering the limited number of this special edition, interested buyers must have to grab the deal asap.
