Bookings for Audi's upcoming facelifted Q5 SUV have been commenced ahead of its launch in November 2021. Interested customers can reserve their unit either online or through dealerships for a token amount of Rs 2 lakh.
Commenting on the opening of bookings of Q5, Mr. Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India said –
Today, we open bookings for our strong addition to Audi’s successful Q family in India – the Audi Q5. This will be our 9th product launch for 2021 and we couldn’t be happier about our progress for the year. The new Audi Q5 is a perfect blend of features, comfort and practicality in its segment. With its new design that captivates at first glance, we are confident that it will continue to retain its leadership position in the segment and woo the existing and prospective customers.
The 2021 Audi Q5 will be a petrol-only offering that will be available in two variants – – Premium Plus and Technology. Compared to its previous model, the new Q5 will come with a larger slatted grille, new matrix LED headlamps along with sharper LED DRLs, and possibly OLED tail lamps. It will also get larger 19-inch alloy wheels and redesigned bumpers at both ends.
Inside, it is likely to feature Audi's new 10.1-inch MMI infotainment system that can be controlled only via touch inputs. Moreover, the new Q5 will also receive an updated digital driver’s display with new graphic layouts, connected car technology, and Amazon's Alexa virtual assistant.
The other notable features on offer will be three-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a Bang & Olufsen 3D premium sound system, wireless smartphone charger, powered front seats, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, adaptive dampers, drive modes park assist, and up to 8 airbags including rear side airbags.
Powering the new Audi Q5 will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that is proficient in churning out 245PS and 370Nm. It will drive all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. There will be no diesel engine on offer.
Since the 2021 Audi Q5 will be a locally assembled model, it is likely to be priced from around Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. Once launched, it will battle it out with the BMW X3, Lexus NX, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Volvo XC60.
