BYD Atto 3 Electric SUV To Be Launched On This Date

The renowned Chinese EV automaker, BYD, has announced to launch the Atto 3 electric SUV in India on October 11, 2022. With this, it will become the brand’s second electric four-wheeler in India after the e6 MPV.

BYD hasn’t disclosed any specific technical data or the battery size for the upcoming EV, but globally the electrified SUV comes with two’ Blade Battery’ options: 49.92kWh and 60.48kWh, with a claimed range of 345km to 420km (WLTP) depending on the variant.

Powering the global-spec Atto 3 is a 204PS/310Nm permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that can sprint it from 0 to 100kmph in only 7.3 seconds. Globally, the SUV is compatible with DC fast charging of up to 80kW.

Dimension-wise, the BYD Atto 3 will be around 4,455mm long, 1,875mm wide, and 1,615mm tall and will possess a wheelbase of 2,720mm. It will have a ground clearance of 175mm and a cargo capacity of 440 liters.

Inside, the Atto 3 will be loaded with tons of premium features, such as leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, wireless smartphone charger, auto climate control, digital driver’s display, 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment, electronic parking brakes, powered tailgate, and much more.

Safety of the passengers is likely to be ensured by multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera, and advanced active safety tech, comprising adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, front & rear collision warning, blind spot detection, adaptive headlights, and lane keep assist.

Since the BYD Atto 3 will be brought as a completely knocked down (CKD) unit, we assume its price to start from around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will go up against the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.
