Tata Tiago EV To Be Revealed On September 28

Last week on the World EV Day, Tata Motors confirmed the arrival of the Tiago EV hatchback. Now, we got to know that it will be revealed on September 28, 2022. Once launched, it will become India’s most affordable electric car.

What will power the Tata Tiago EV?

While Tata is yet to reveal the specifications of the Tiago EV, it is likely to be powered by the same Ziptron electric powertrain as the Tigor EV and Nexon EV. Also, it might use the same 75PS/170Nm electric motor as the Tigor EV, linked with a 26kWH of the battery pack, which claims an ARAI-tested driving range of up to 306 kilometers on a single charge. It is also expected to come with fast charging capabilities.

Expect the carmaker to also make some EV-specific cosmetic changes, such as a tweaked front grille & bumper, new alloy wheels, and new color options. It will also get blue highlights both inside and out to denote its electric nature.

We assume the prices of Tata Tiago EV to start from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). It is also possible that Tata could introduce Tiago’s electric fleet version under its ‘XPRES’ sub-brand in the future.
