2026 Renault Duster Gets 5-Star Safety Rating From Bharat NCAP

Renault Duster, which has recently made a comeback in the Indian market, has now achieved another milestone by securing a 5-star safety rating by Bharat NCAP across both adult and child protection. Here’s a detailed account of its crash test: –

  • For the frontal offset deformable barrier crash test at 64 kmph, the driver and co-passenger showed strong protection overall, with the head, neck, thighs, and pelvis rated as good. However, the chest, tibia, and feet of the driver showed adequate protection. Nevertheless, the co-driver got good protection across all critical body regions.
  • In the side movable deformable barrier test, the head, chest and pelvis showed good protection.
  • In the side pole impact test, the vehicle was rated ‘OK’.

  • The Duster scored 45 out of 49 points for child occupant protection.
  • The SUV received full marks in both dynamic crash performance and child seat installation, while the vehicle assessment score is slightly lower at 9 out of 13.
  • Both 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummies demonstrated maximum protection in frontal and side impacts, with the seats installed rearward-facing using ISOFIX mounts and a support leg.
