2024 BMW 5 Series LWB Launched In India At Rs 72.9 Lakh

The 8th-generation iteration of the BMW 5 Series has finally hit the Indian shores in India. Offered in a sole 530Li M Sport variant, this luxury saloon has been priced at Rs 72.9 lakh (ex-showroom). Here’s what the upgraded 5 Series has on offer: –

2024 BMW 5 Series LWB – Exterior Design

The new BMW 5 Series sedan receives a few styling changes that enhance its luxury quotient. These include: –

  • Bigger illuminated kidney grille
  • Sleeker swept-back LED headlamps and taillamps
  • Aggressively styled bumpers with diffuser-like elements
  • 19-inch alloys
  • Massive wheelbase of 3105mm

Interior Design and Features

  • The cabin of the new BMW 5 Series LWB takes inspiration from the larger 7 Series. It looks very sporty and futuristic and is made of sustainable vegan materials.
  • Key design highlights include dual-connected displays, hidden AC vents and a streak of ambient light.
  • BMW stated that the first 500 customers will get customisable headrests with their initials engraved on it, giving the sedan a touch of exclusivity.
  • Regarding features, the new 5 Series comes loaded with features like a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto,18-speaker Bowers and Wilkins sound system, powered front seats, four-zone climate control, a heads-up display (HUD), panoramic sunroof, multiple driving modes, and multi-coloured ambient lighting.
  • Safety is taken care of by multiple airbags, ESC, front & rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, traction control, a 360-degree camera, cornering brake assist, tyre pressure monitoring system and ADAS suite.

Propulsion Duties

  • Powering the new BMW 5 Series LWB is a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that churns out a whopping 258PS of grunt.
  • Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the BMW 5 Series sent the drive to the rear wheels.
  • Currently, the sedan misses out on the diesel engine option. However, it is expected to be introduced at a later stage.

Rivals

In the Indian market, the BMW 5 Series LWB locks horns with the Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
