MG Motor has revealed the facelifted version of the Astor in Thailand, where it is sold as MG VS. The SUV has received substantial visual changes, giving it a refreshed appeal.
2023 MG Astor – What’s New?
To begin with, the 2023 MG Astor (VS) boasts a completely new front facia, featuring a piano black sleek & sharper grille, new sharp-edged LED projector headlamps, and a unique diamond pattern along with large intakes adorning the new front bumper. Save for the redesigned alloy wheels and new LED inserts for the tail lamps, the side and rear profiles of the SUV remains largely unchanged
Compared to its Indian-spec iteration, the Thail-spec MG Astor (MG VS) features a slightly different dashboard layout, with twin connected display taking the centre stage. Key features of the mid-size SUV comprise a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless smartphone charger, a panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brakes, 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, hill assist & descent control, traction control, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and more.
Powering the MG VS is a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a strong hybrid setup, delivering a combined power output of 177PS. It gets three driving modes: Eco / Comfort / Sport.
Will it be launched in India?
It’s only been a year since the MG Astor was launched in India, so the updated version is unlikely to arrive anytime soon. For now, MG is gearing up to launch an updated version of the Hector and it is likely to be revealed on December 20. The brand is also expected to launch the Wuling Air-based compact EV in the coming months.
