2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift – Exterior Design
Globally revealed last year, the new Skoda Kodiaq gets a restyled front with notable bits, including a new radiator grille, a slightly updated bonnet, a bigger chrome-finished butterfly grille, new crystalline LED headlamps, and a reworked bumper, helping the SUV look more penetrating than its predecessor. While the side profile of the SUV remains largely unchanged save for the new alloy wheels, the rear gets revamped bumper and LED tail lights providing it a more premium appeal. The brand is also likely to introduce a sportier RS version at a later stage.
2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift – Interior and Features
Inside the cabin, the facelifted Kodiaq retains the same dashboard layout; however, it gets a new two-spoke steering wheel (similar to the latest Skoda models) and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration support. It also features new ergonomic front seats (12-way adjustable) with ventilation & massage functions, a virtual cockpit, wireless charging pad, 10-color ambient lighting, and an updated 12 speaker Canton sound system with a subwoofer (two more speakers than before). However, the most notable inclusion is Skoda's Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) system, which alters the firmness of the dampers based on the drive mode for maximum comfort & ease of driving.
Other than these, the Kodiaq continues to be provided with three-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, hands-free parking, 9-airbags, front & rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, brake assist, adaptive headlamps, an electric parking brake with auto-hold function, electronic differential locking, etc.
2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift – Powertrain
The India-bound Kodiaq is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine (190PS/320Nm), which replaces the older 150PS 2.0-litre diesel unit. The new mill is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) and an All-Wheel-Drivetrain (AWD).
2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift – Competitors
Being a 7-seater monocoque SUV, the Kodiaq doesn't have any direct rival in the Indian market. However, pricing-wise it will go up against the petrol variants of the Toyota Fortuner and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.
