Select Skoda dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for the facelifted Kodiaq for a token amount of up to Rs 50,000. The SUV is slated to be launched in January 2022 and is likely to be offered in three trims: Sportline, Style, and Laurin & Klement (L&K). Production of the 2022 Kodiaq has already begun at Skoda's Aurangabad facility, in Maharashtra.

Unlike the previous model that was an oil burner, the upgraded Kodiaq will be a petrol-only offering. That said, it will employ the 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol mill (190PS/320Nm) under the hood rather than the 2.0-liter diesel motor (150PS/340Nm). This new engine will be mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
Globally, the Kodiaq gets two diesel and three petrol engines from the EVO generation. These include a 150PS 1.5-litre TSI with Active Cylinder Technology (for entry-level model), a 200PS 2.0-litre TDI Biturbo, and a 245PS 2.0-litre TSI Biturbo (for RS trim), a 190PS 2.0-litre TSI petrol, and a 150PS 2.0-litre TDI unit (for other trims).
Being a facelift model, the 2022 Kodiaq will receive a new & sleeker butterfly grille, a refreshed bumper, and slimmer LED headlamps with crystalline effect. Changes on the side and rear will be limited to the new alloy wheels, a redesigned bumper, and revised LED tail lamps.
Inside, the updated Skoda Kodiaq will retain the same dashboard layout as the pre-facelift model. However, it will receive Skoda’s latest two-spoke steering wheel that can also be found in Kushaq and new-gen Octavia. In addition, the full-size SUV could also get new features like powered front seats with ventilation and memory functions, 10-colour footwell LED ambient lighting, an updated sound system, etc. Features like multizone climate control, electronic parking brakes, digital driver’s display, touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, multiple airbags, front & rear parking sensors with camera, electronic stability control, etc will also be present.
Skoda is likely to price the Kodiaq from around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against the petrol variants of Toyota Fortuner.
