2021 Land Rover Discovery – Exterior
Starting with the designing front, the updated Land Rover Discovery has undergone significant cosmetic changes that mainly includes Discovery Sport like a new front grille, new Matrix LED headlamps with U-shaped LED DRLs, updated bumpers, refreshed taillamps and new alloy wheels ranging from 20, to 22 inches, depending on the variant. Further, the R Dynamic trims will also pack sportier aesthetics with tones of contrasting black elements.
2021 Land Rover Discovery – Interior & Features
The interior of the updated Discovery looks largely similar to the ongoing model save for some minor tweaks and the addition of new features. Taking the centre stage is a new 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology. The brand claims that it is quite faster & smooth than before. There is also a new climate control system that now gets a PM 2.5 air filter for ionising the cabin air.
Below the climate control system, there's a storage compartment and a new & more conventional gear knob, replacing the older rotary gear select dial. However, it continues to get the small rotary dial for the off-road mode selector.
The 2021 Discovery also gets a new steering wheel with haptic touch controls, which seems to be borrowed from the Land Rover Defender. It also features a new 12.3-inch digital driver’s display with an optional TFT head-up display (HUD). Land Rover has also improved the lateral & side lumbar support for the second row and enhanced air circulation by offering traditional rear AC vents, mounted between the front seats. Earlier, these air-con vents were situated at the pillars.
The other notable features of the Land Rover Discovery facelift include wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support, wireless mobile charger, artificial intelligence, 2D & 3D maps with automatic updates, live traffic information, over-the-air updates, lots of Type-C & regular USB charging ports, a wearable smartwatch key, hands-free tailgate, MERIDIAN™ surround sound system of up to 700W, heated windscreen & windows, sliding front sunroof & fixed rear panoramic roof, ventilated & heated front electric seats with massage & memory functions, 3-zone climate control, cruise control, configurable terrain response, electronic air suspensions, etc.
