Top 10 Best Selling Cars Of April 2021: Maruti WagonR, Swift, Baleno, Hyundai Creta

Sales figures for April 2021 are out now and we can see the common players in the top 10 list, comprising seven Maruti's and three Hyundai cars. However, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR has beaten the Swift, Alto & Baleno, and managed to top the chart this month. Here are the top 10 cars that recorded the highest sales in the month of April 2021: –

  • The last month was pretty hard for the automobile industry as many states & UTs have once again imposed lockdown to fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID19). And that's the reason most of the models have registered negative MoM growth in April month. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Venue were the only two models that have seen positive growth against the March month. 

  • It is important to note that there was a nationwide lockdown in April 2020, that's why we haven't compared the April 2021 sales numbers with those for April last year.

Maruti WagonR sales

  • The list is topped by the Maruti Suzuki WagonR compact hatchback, outselling the Swift by a small margin.

  • Maruti Alto, which was in 4th position last month, jumped a step up with a cumulative domestic sale of 17,303 units. 

  • Maruti Baleno slipped from the second to the fourth spot as its MoM figure went down by around 23%. 

  • Dzire is the only sedan to maintaining its presence in the top 10 cars sold list. Maruti sold over 14,073 units of the sub-4-meter sedan in April 2021.

  • While the top five best-selling cars this month were from Maruti only, the next top five batch is dominated by Hyundai with the Creta, Grand i10, and Venue featuring in the list with over eleven thousand units sold.

  • Maruti Eeco has managed to settle in the eighth position on the table with a negligible decline in its month-on-month number. 

  • Hyundai’s sub-4m SUV became the bestseller in its segment with 11,245 units sold last month, beating the Vitara Brezza by just 25 units.
