Talking about its variants, Maruti Suzuki will offer the new Celerio in four broad trims: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+. It will be powered by a new K-series DualJet petrol engine, featuring the Idle Start-Stop function. It is claimed to be India's most efficient petrol engine. Our source has suggested that its mileage will range between 25.26kmpl to 26kmpl. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual (standard) and an optional 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) with all variants except for the base-spec LXi trim.

As for equipment, the 2021 Maruti Celerio will be loaded with features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Suzuki Connect tech, multi-function steering wheel, height-adjustable driver's seat, keyless entry, analogue instrument cluster with a round MID, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and more.

We expect Maruti to price the new Celerio between Rs 4.7 lakh and Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will resume its battle with the Tata Tiago, Hyundai Santro and Datsun GO
