Soon after getting XUV700's clear exterior images, Mahindra has now officially teased the interior of the upcoming SUV. It is expected to be unveiled on the forthcoming Independence Day (15th August 2021).
The XUV700 will flaunt a dual-tone black-&-cream interior theme with the dashboard dominated by a twin-screen setup, comprising a large touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument panel. It will also get a new AI system called ''Adernox'' along with connected car technology with WiFi connectivity, and voice commands executed by Amazon’s Alexa.
The video further shows that the SUV will get four driving modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom, and Custom – which are expected to adjust the acceleration and steering response. However, these modes will be restricted to the diesel model only. It will also feature a Sony 3D sound system with multiple sound modes and roof-mounted speakers.
The other striking bits include faux wooden trims on the door panel with some switches (probably for front seat memory functions), white color leatherette upholstery, flat-bottom steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, automatic gear lever, push-button start-stop, a rotary dial on the center console (likely for driving mode selection), etc. Additionally, we also got a clear view of its panoramic sunroof, which is claimed to be the segment's largest unit.
Besides, the brand has already teased features like high-beam assist (auto booster headlamps), flush-fitting door handles, smart air filter, personalized safety alerts, and driver drowsiness detection. Mahindra is also expected to offer the segment's first ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which could further include features such as lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection, adaptive cruise control, and auto emergency braking.
This XUV500's successor model will be powered by the second-generation Thar’s turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol and 2.2-liter diesel engines, albeit in a higher state of tune. Mahindra is expected to offer the XUV700 with both manual and diesel engines, along with a segment-first all-wheel-drive option.
Expect the XUV700 to be priced between Rs 15.5 lakh to Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it against the likes of MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and the Hyundai Alcazar.
