Ather Energy has collaborated with Google to show real-time availability of its fast charging stations, Ather Grid, on Google Maps. This update aims to make the charging experience at public charging grids more convenient with the following: –
- Google Maps will show live status updates for Ather Grid fast charging stations.
- New chargers will automatically be added to Google Maps as they are installed.
- LECCS is now officially recognized as a plug type on Google Maps, allowing users to set their default connector or plug type as LECCS. This means chargers with LECCS will appear when searching for “EV charger near me” or “charging stations,” on Google Maps.
- This makes it easier for any vehicle with a LECCS connector to find and use Ather Grid fast-charging stations.

Ather Grid’s fast-charging network for electric two-wheelers is built on the Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECCS), a technology developed in India and approved by the Bureau of Indian Standards for nationwide use. Introduced last year, this new standard is considered a major step toward creating a universal standard for interoperability, which is expected to boost the adoption of electric vehicles across the country.
As of March 30, 2024, Ather Energy has deployed 1,973 fast chargers, demonstrating its commitment to providing a seamless charging experience for its customers.
