Yamaha XSR 155 Launched In India – Price, Specs and More

After months of anticipation and multiple spy sightings, Yamaha India has finally launched the XSR 155 — its first neo-retro roadster in the 150cc segment. Priced at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the XSR 155 blends the old-school charm of a retro roadster with the modern performance of Yamaha’s proven R15 platform.

Yamaha XSR 155 – Design and Styling

The XSR 155 stands apart from Yamaha’s sportier siblings — the R15 V4 and MT-15 V2 — thanks to its classic design cues. It gets a round LED headlamp, a peanut-shaped fuel tank, wide handlebars, and a flat bench seat for a more relaxed, upright riding stance. These elements give it an authentic retro vibe, while maintaining Yamaha’s signature build quality.

Yamaha XSR 155 – Engine and Performance

Powering the new XSR 155 is the same 155cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine from the R15 and MT-15, producing 18.4PS of max power and 14.2Nm of peak torque. It’s paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch, ensuring smooth shifts and sprightly city performance. Expect the XSR to deliver the same peppy acceleration as its sportier siblings, but in a more relaxed avatar.

Underpinnings and Hardware

Yamaha XSR 155 borrows its underpinnings from the MT-15, featuring a Deltabox frame, USD front forks, and a link-type monocross rear setup. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, and braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS. The bike also benefits from a traction control system for added stability and enhanced traction.

Yamaha XSR 155 – Colour Options

Yamaha has offered it in four colour options: Grey, Blue, Greyish Green, and Vivid Red.

Features And Equipment

The Yamaha XSR 155 packs a negatively lit round LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity for call alerts, SMS notifications, and service updates. However, turn-by-turn navigation isn’t part of the package.

Rivals

It directly rivals the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and TVS Ronin, both popular among riders seeking retro charm without compromising on everyday usability.
