Yamaha R15S To Launch Soon

Yamaha YZF-R15 is a huge hit in the Indian market. The brand has recently launched its 4th-generation version called the R15 V4.0. Priced between Rs 1,67,800 to Rs 1,79,800, it's a solid single-cylinder sports bike that comes with redesigned bodywork, new features, and updated hardware. However, a recently leaked type approval document has suggested that Yamaha could reintroduce the older R15 in the near future that will be available in two variants: base-spec R15 (standard) and R15S.

It is worth noting that it's not the first time when Yamaha is practising this kind of approach. Back in September 2015, Yamaha had relaunched the first-generation YZF-R15 with the ‘S’ label as an affordable alternative to the R15 V2.0. So, we anticipate the upcoming R15 will certainly be a rebadged third-generation model with new colour options, sitting below the R15 V4 in the lineup.

With this, the R15 range will target a wider section of the audience. But the irony is that the R15 V4 generates 0.25PS less power than the R15 V3. However, we can't ignore that the new R15 V4 comes with a more aerodynamic front facia, reworked side & rear quarter panels, new heat shield, two ride modes (Street and Track), a traction control system, Yamaha Motorcycle Connect, USD front forks, and even an optional quickshifter.

Yamaha R15 V3.0 price

In the other news, Yamaha has recently launched the Aerox 155cc performance scooter at a starting price of Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Sharing its underpinnings with the R15 V3 and MT-15, the Yamaha Aerox draws its power from a 155cc liquid-cooled VVA-equipped single-cylinder engine that produces 14.95PS and 13.9Nm.
