Volkswagen Taigun Facelift To Be Revealed On This Date

Skoda India has recently launched the Kushaq facelift, and now its sister brand, Volkswagen, is also gearing up to roll out a mid-life facelift update for the Kushaq’s co-engineered sibling, the Taigun. It is confirmed to debut on April 9, 2026.

Here’s what you can expect from the new Taigun facelift: –

  • Similar to the Skoda Kushaq facelift, the facelifted Taigun is also expected to undergo a refreshed design, feature additions and a new automatic gearbox option.
  • Going by the undisguised spy images, the 2026 Taigun will borrow some of its design cues from the Tayron R-Line, featuring sleeker LED headlamps connected by an LED DRL bar with an illuminated VW badge.
  • It will also feature a restyled grille, updated bumpers at both ends and revised detailing for the LED tail lamps.
  • While the interior is yet to be seen, it is expected to get a new cabin scheme and updated trim materials to freshen things up.

  • The feature set is likely to mirror that of the Kushaq, including a new panoramic sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting and rear massage seat function.
  • Expect the German carmaker to also address the air conditioning shortcomings of the existing model.
  • Underneath the hood, the 2026 Taigun is likely to get a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox option for the 1-litre TSI unit. This is expected to be offered alongside the existing 6-speed manual gearbox. On the contrary, the 1.5-litre TSI engine will continue to be offered with the existing 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
  • As for the pricing, the Taigun facelift is expected to cost a significant price premium over the ongoing model, which ranges between Rs 11.42 lakh and Rs 19.18 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • Once launched, it will continue to be stacked up against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara & Victoris, MG Astor, Tata Sierra, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate and the recently launched Renault Duster.
