The Volkswagen Polo hatchback is one the most popular offerings from the German carmaker in the Indian market. Though it doesn't have changed much since its launch, the brand has always tried its best to keep things fresh. And now Volkswagen has introduced the Polo Matt Edition to keep it stands out from the crowd.
Volkswagen Polo Matt Edition – What's New?
The VW Polo Matt Edition is based on the top-spec GT TSI variant and it gets a new matte grey exterior paint scheme, giving it a distinct identity in its segment. Further, it also gets a contrasting glossy black finish on the door handles, ORVMs, and rear spoiler along with matt grey 'GT TSI' badging on the C-pillar.
The interior, on the other hand, remains the same as the regular model. It continues to get the old-fashioned all-black dash that seriously needs an update. There are no changes in its features list also. It retains all equipment as the regular GT trim, including a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto climate control, rear AC vent, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, footwell lamps, auto-dimming IRVM, a multi-info display, keyless entry, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and electronic stability control, etc. Compared to the other cars of the segment, it misses out on premium features like push engine start/stop button, LED headlamps, a wireless phone charger, sunroof, etc.
The Matt finished Polo GT continues to be powered by the same 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine as the regular model that is proficient in generating a maximum power output of 110PS and a peak torque of 175Nm. The power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
