VinFast India is all set to commence its India journey with the launch of two models: VF6 and VF7, on September 6, 2025. Both of these electric SUVs will be locally assembled at their Thoothukudi plant in Tamil Nadu. Pre-launch bookings for these upcoming Vietnamese models are already underway for a token amount of Rs 21,000.
In the initial phase, VinFast has plans to open 32 dealerships across 27 metro cities, including Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune. For this, the brand has already partnered with 13 dealer groups.

VinFast VF6 – An Overview
- The VinFast VF6 is a mid-size electric SUV that will go up against the likes of Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV and the upcoming Maruti eVitara.
- It will be offered in two variants: Eco and Plus.
- Irrespective of the variant, the EV will come equipped with a 59.6kWh battery pack, powering a front axle-mounted motor rated at 177PS/250Nm for the Eco and 204PS/310Nm for the Plus variant.
- Although ARAI/MIDC figures are yet to be disclosed, the VF6’s 59.6 kWh battery delivers a WLTP-rated range of 480 km
- VinFast will offer it in six colour options: Crimson Red, Jet Black, Desat Silver, Zenith Grey, Urban Mint and Infinity Blanc.
- We expect VinFast to price it at around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).

About VinFast VF7
- Expected to be priced from around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), it will face competition from the likes of the BYD Sealion 7, Kia EV6 and the long-wheelbase BMW iX1.
- It will be offered in two variants: FWD and AWD, both equipped with a 70.8kWh battery pack.
- The FWD version will produce the same output as the VF6 (204PS/310Nm), while the dual-motor AWD version will offer a combined output of 350PS/500Nm.
- The WLTP range for the VF7 AWD is 431km, while the FWD version is rated at 450km.
