We all know that the next product from Toyota will be the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga-based Rumion MPV in the Indian market. Reports suggest that it will be launched by the end of August or in early September. And with the price disclosure, its booking process will also kick off in the country.
Toyota Rumion vs Maruti Ertiga – Differences
- While the Rumion is based on the Ertiga, Toyota has made some minor styling changes to differentiate the two.
- For starters, the front facia has been reworked. It features an Innova Hycross-inspired grille with a chrome outline inspired by the Toyota Innova.
- The Toyota MPV also gets a differently styled front bumper with triangular fog lamp housings. There are also new diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Powertrains
- Similar to the Ertiga, the Toyota Rumion will also be offered with Suzuku’s 1.5-litre petrol engine (103PS/137Nm) that can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
- It is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 20.51 kmpl.
- In its manual avatar, it will also be offered a factory-fitted CNG kit that claims a fuel efficiency of 26.11 kg/km.
Seating Configuration
The Rumion will be offered in a sole 7-seater version featuring a 2+3+2 arrangement.

- Toyota will provide the Rumion in three variants: S, G and V.

Expected Price
We expect Toyota to price the Toyota Rumion between Rs 9.99 lakh and 13.48 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will serve as an affordable alternative to the Kia Carens.
