Toyota Cars To Get Expensive From October 1

Toyota India has announced an increase in the prices of its entire product portfolio from 1 October 2021. The Japanese automaker has cited a rise in the cost of production as the reason for the price hike. This will be the second major price hike from Toyota this year.

Currently, Toyota has six models in its Indian portfolio. These include Glanza premium hatchback (Rs 7.34 lakh to Rs 9.30 lakh), Urban Cruiser sub-4m SUV (Rs 8.62 lakh to Rs 11.40 lakh), Innova Crysta MPV (Rs 16.41 lakh to Rs 24.99 lakh), Fortuner full-sized SUV (Rs 30.34 lakh to Rs 38.30 lakh), Camry executive sedan (Rs 40.59 lakh) and a premium people mover, the Vellfire (Rs 89.90 lakh).

Toyota has recently discontinued the Yaris compact sedan from its Indian lineup due to its poor demand. However, the brand will soon introduce a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz as its replacement that is likely to be called Toyota Belta. Furthermore, the carmaker is also supposed to launch the Fortuner Legender 4×4 Automatic in the upcoming weeks and the Hilux lifestyle pickup truck in early 2022.
