  • Tata Motors secured the second spot with 59,000 units, marking a 30.5% YoY increase, although its sales declined 11.9% MoM.

  • Hyundai retained its fourth position with 51,902 units, up 17% YoY, while Toyota reported 30,159 units, reflecting a 21% annual growth. However, both brands saw MoM declines of 5.7% and 14.1%, respectively.
  • Kia recorded 27,286 units, growing 16% YoY, while MG Motor India posted 6,018 units, with a marginal 3% growth. Among mid-tier players,
  • Renault stood out with a remarkable 108% YoY growth, reaching 5,413 units, along with a 7.3% MoM increase. Honda, however, faced a sharp decline in monthly performance, with sales dropping 46.4% MoM to 4,069 units, despite a 21% YoY growth.
  • Nissan also reported a decline, with 3,203 units, down 27.3% MoM, though it maintained a 45.5% YoY rise.
  • Overall, while April 2026 reflected healthy annual growth across most automakers, the MoM decline for several brands suggests a temporary demand correction after a strong March. The coming months will be crucial in determining whether this trend stabilises or continues.
