Tata Tiago XTA Launched At Rs 5.99 Lakh

Tata Motors has launched the new XTA variant of its most popular Tiago hatchback in the country, at a starting price of Rs 5.99 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). With this, it has become the 4th AMT variant in Tata Tiago's line-up. Compared to its manual counterpart, the newly launched XTA trim fetches a premium of Rs 50,000. However, it’s the most affordable automatic variant of the Tiago, undercutting the XZA trim by Rs 47,000.

The Tiago XTA is powered by the same BS6 compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine that also powers the other variants. This engine is good enough in producing 86PS of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque. That said, it is the most powerful engine in its segment.

As far as the features are concerned, this new trim shares its features list with its manual version (XT) that mainly includes 14-inch steel wheels with covers, follow-me-home lamps, a ConnectNext infotainment system by Harman (with radio, Bluetooth, AUX & USB connectivity), 4 speakers, steering mounted controls, power adjustable ORVMs, flat-bottom steering wheel, semi-digital instrument cluster, adjustable front headrests, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminder and rear parking assist, etc. Compared to the top-end trims, it misses out on 15-inch alloy wheels, Android Auto and Apple Carplay smartphone connectivity, voice command, cooled glove box, automatic climate control, rear parking camera, and a rear defogger, etc.

Commenting on the launch of this new variant, Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Head Marketing, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (PVBU), Tata Motors said-

Fulfilling our brand promise of staying New Forever, we are constantly listening and gathering feedback from the market. The Tiago has received tremendous market response from across regions. Furthermore, the automatic transmission (AT) segment in India is booming and the same has been proven in the sales of Tiago as well. Acknowledging the increasing preference for ATs we are excited to introduce the XTA version to the range and are confident that this new variant will not only give us a competitive edge in the mid-hatch segment but will also provide customers with accessible options to choose from at every price point.
