Tata Tiago NRG Prices Out; Launch Soon

Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the CNG version of the Tiago NRG. The launch is still a while away, but we’ve got our hands on the prices of the upcoming greener crossover.

Tata Tiago NRG i-CNG VariantsEx-Showroom Price Price Difference From Petrol-Only Version
XTRs 7.40 lakh+Rs 90,000
XZRs 7.80 lakh+Rs 90,000

Tata will offer both the variants of Tiago NRG with a factory-fitted CNG kit option that will command a premium of Rs 90,000 over their standard counterparts.

Powering the Tata Tiago NRG CNG will be the same 1.2-litre petrol engine as the standard model. However, it will only come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and will make 73.4PS/95Nm in CNG mode, a drop of 12.6PS/18Nm from its regular petrol version. Similar to the standard Tiago, it also gets a 60-litre of CNG tank (water equivalent) and can be started in CNG mode only.

Design-wise, the crossover Tiago CNG looks exactly the same as its regular version save for the ‘i-CNG’ badging on its tailgate. The features list of the car also remains unchanged, comprising a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a digital driver’s display, height adjustable driver’s seat, a cooled glovebox, keyless entry with push button start, multi-function flat-bottom steering wheel, manual air conditioning system, powered outside rearview mirrors, day/night IRVM, dual-front airbags, corner stability control and more.

The Tata Tiago NRG doesn’t have any direct rival in the Indian market. However, it can be seen as a more rugged alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
