Tata Safari Gold Edition Launched; Other Variants Get Some New Features

Tata Motors has launched the range-topping Safari Gold Edition, which will be first showcased in the second leg of Vivo IPL 2021 to be held in Dubai from September 19, 2021. Based on the XZ+ variant, it will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options. Here's a look at its prices: –

Compared to the standard XZ+/XZA+ trims of the Tata Safari, its all-new Gold Edition variants are up to Rs 1.52 lakh more expensive. For this premium, it gets golden treatment inside and outside, along with a host of new creature comfort.

For the starters, it flaunts gold finishing on the front grille, roof rails, door handles and around the headlamp cluster. Besides, the brand's logo and the ‘Safari’ badging also comes finished in gold.

Inside, it gets Oyster White Diamond Quilted genuine leather seats with gold stitching, along with gold inserts on the air-con vents, door handles and Tata logo on the steering wheel. Additionally, it also features a white or black trim that runs across the dashboard, depending on which exterior colour (White Gold and Black Gold) you choose. The lower dashboard portion of the white trim also comes dressed up in gold.

In terms of creature comforts, the Safari Gold Edition receives ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, and an air purifier. Moreover, buyers can also opt for a seat ventilation feature for the second-row captain seats in the 6-seater model. These new features will also be available with some lower variants of the Safari. 

The other notable features of the Safari Gold Edition includes xenon HID automatic projector headlamps, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with iRA connected car technology, a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, ambient lighting, 9-speakers JBL premium sound system, cruise control, auto wipers, up to 6-airbags, multiple terrain modes, hill hold & descent control, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), traction control and much more. 

Powering the Tata Safari Gold Edition is the same 170PS 2.0-liter diesel engine as the other variants that can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

In the mid-sized 6/7-seater SUV segment, the Tata Safari challenges the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700.
