Tata Punch Spotted Undisguised Before Launch, Interior Revealed

The Tata Punch micro-SUV has been spotted undisguised for the first time, suggesting its launch is just around the corners. While the brand has already revealed the SUV's exterior design, we have now got the clearest interior shots without a disguise. And you will be happy to know that it looks largely similar to the HBX concept showcased at Auto Expo 2020, save for some minor changes.

The Tata Punch’s dashboard design is similar to its concept. However, it utilizes a black-&-white color theme, which not only looks more premium than the concept’s all-black scheme but also gives it an airier feel. The copper highlights around AC vents have also been replaced with blue color. One can also notice that it shares a lot of parts/features with the Altroz premium hatchback. These include a similarly styled automatic climate control panel, free-standing 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, multi-function steering wheel, and a semi-digital instrument console. Additionally, the steering-mounted controls confirm the presence of the cruise control feature. Moreover, Tata has already revealed that it will come with multiple driving and terrain modes

Apart from the above-mentioned traits, the Tata Punch is also expected to get features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration support, iRA connected car technology, height-adjustable driver’s seat, a premium Harman sound system, keyless entry with push-button start, etc. Passenger safety, on the other hand, should be taken care of by dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, electronic stability control, hill start assist, and rear parking sensors along with a reverse camera.

Talking about the exteriors, the Tata Punch cuts a dash in the orange shade with a blacked-out roof and ORVMs.

Underneath the bonnet, the smallest Tata SUV will employ the Altroz's 86PS 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT. It could also get the 110PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. Besides, an all-electric powertrain is also on the cards.

Select Tata dealerships have already started accepting unofficial bookings for the Punch for a booking amount ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 21,000. Expect it to be priced from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. On its arrival, it will go up against the Mahindra KUV100 NXT and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
