Tata Motors launched the Nexon EV Max Dark Edition today, and the Indian automaker’s next major launch will be the Altroz CNG on April 19.

- First showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, the greener Altroz gets two small CNG tanks instead of one, which results in a considerable increase in cargo space. However, the exact boot volume is yet to be revealed.
- Powering the Altroz CNG will be the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine as the regular model that makes 77PS and 97Nm when fed with natural gas, a drop of 9PS and 16Nm compared to its standard petrol version.
- It will be offered solely with the 5-speed manual gearbox.
- Going by the previously revealed model at the auto show, the Altroz CNG will also be offered with the range-topping XZ+ variant of the hatch. Having said that, you won’t have to sacrifice any of the creature comforts.

- It will come equipped with projector headlamps, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, auto AC, height adjustable driver’s seat, electric sunroof, up to 6 airbags, corner stability control (CSC), ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and a reversing camera.
- Expect natural gas-powered Altroz to command a premium of around Rs 90,000 over their standard counterpart.
- Once launched, it will go up against the CNG versions of the Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza.
- The CNG powertrain option will soon be available for the Tata Punch as well.
