Suzuki Launches Gixxer & Gixxer SF

The Suzuki Gixxer was an exciting addition to a very competitive two-wheeler segment in India. Suzuki appealed to a wide range of customers with the youth’s favourite segment but with Suzuki’s refinement and, manoeuvrability, rideability.

The Gixxer then stood its name made its place in the Indian hearts with its both naked and the SF variant. The SF’s design with its mini Hayabusa elements appealed to Indian customers so much so that people welcomed it wholeheartedly despite the higher price tag. The 250cc variants with a new design really caught our eyes. This article marks the update in these variants.

About the update

There are visual upgrades to either of the Gixxer’s variants with the update but that’s explanatory given the not so old design changes which frankly don’t need work on for some time.

The update is a purely mechanical one with additional compliance to the BS6 fuel emission norms. Suzuki boasts of mechanical tweaks that will result in better performance and lesser emissions.

The change comes at a cost. The naked version has got a price hike of Rs 3400 whereas the fully-faired SF costs Rs 3000 more.

The naked Gixxer now comes at a tag of Rs1.63 lakh, whereas the SF has now priced at Rs 1.74 lakh, and moto GP colour variant costing a grand more.

Author’s take

This being an update detail does not really crave for my take or opinion. I would like to point out that with easing restrictions, the market is picking up its pace again and we can expect big, impactful, and powerful long term and short term changes most expectedly for the better.
