Select Volvo Cars Gets Expensive By Up To Rs 1.6 Lakh

Volvo India has announced a price hike for its select models, including the XC40 Recharge, XC60, and XC90, attributing the ongoing supply chain constraints and rising manufacturing costs. Here’s a look at the revised prices of these aforementioned models: –

  • As the above table indicates, the Volvo XC90 is the most affected by the price hike move, followed by the XC40 Recharge and XC60.
  • Those who booked their cars before 24th November 2022, will be exempt from the price increase.
  • The ICE-powered Volvo XC40 SUV and Volvo S90 sedan remain unaffected by the price revision. While the former currently costs Rs 45.90 lakh, the latter is priced at Rs 65.90 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).

In other news, Volvo is gearing up to launch its second electric offering in India in the form of the C40 Recharge crossover in 2023. Similar to the XC40 Recharge, it will also be locally assembled at the brand’s Hosakote facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
