Second Round Of Sales For Ola S1 And S1 Pro E-Scooter Postponed By 45 Days

The second round of sales for the Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters has been delayed by 45 days due to their unprecedented demand. Earlier, the purchase window for the second round was supposed to start on November 1, but now it is scheduled for December 16, 2021. However, interested customers can still reserve their slot on the company's official website for Rs 499.

In a message to customers who have reserved their units, Ola said that – “We will be opening our purchase window for fresh orders on December 16, 2021. We will reach out to you in the coming weeks to schedule your test ride."  The note further states – “If you have already paid Rs 20,000 and secured your scooter during our first purchase window on September 15th and 16th, then there is no change for you. As communicated earlier, your final payment window will open from November 10 onwards basis our previous communication to you, and your scooter is on track to reach you within the delivery window already communicated to you''.

Currently, Ola is striving to meet the existing orders as the first lot of the maiden Ola scooter (worth over Rs 1,100 crore) was sold out in just two days from the commencement of the first round of the purchase window. Deliveries of the first lot of the scooter have not started yet. This could affect the future sales of the EV maker.
