Royal Enfield Scram 450 Spied Testing

A new scrambler version of the upcoming Royal Enfield Scram 450 has been spied testing for the time, implying that the brand is also working on the more powerful version of the Scram 411. While it is not official, it is expected to be called ‘Royal Enfield Scram 450″.

Similar to the ongoing Royal Enfield Scram 411, the new scrambler also looks more compact and urban-friendly than the Himalayan ADV. Unlike the recently spied Himalayan 450, its scrambler derivation features smaller wheels wrapped with block pattern tires, fork clamp mounted round headlight, braceless fuel tank, raised rear fender, and a single-piece contoured seat.

It uses conventional telescopic forks at the front (new Himalayan gets USD), a mono-shock at the rear, and disc brakes at both ends. Keen eyes could also notice its switchgear, shared with Classic 350 and Meteor 350.

Powering the new RE scrambler is expected to be the same 450cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the upcoming Himalayan 450, which is likely to produce around 40PS of max power and 40Nm of peak torque.

Like the ongoing Himalayan and Himalayan Scram duo, the upcoming scrambler will also be more affordable than the full-fledged Himalayan 450. We reckon Royal Enfield to price the new Himalayan 450 from around Rs 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom). So, expect the prices of the new RE scrambler to lie between Rs 2.55 lakh to Rs 2.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
