Renault Kiger Gets A New RXT (O) Variant At Rs 7.37 Lakh

French automaker Renault has launched a new RXT (O) variant for the Kiger sub-4-meter SUV in the Indian market. Available with the only 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, this trim has been positioned between the RXT and RXZ variants. Its bookings will begin on August 6, 2021.

Here's take a look at its pricing: –

Renault Kiger RXT (O)

Price (ex-showroom Delhi)

Manual

Rs 7.37 lakh

AMT

Rs 7.87 lakh

This new trim is Rs 35,000 more expensive than the naturally aspirated RXT trim. For these extra bucks, it gets a few additional features over its donor variant. These include tri-octa LED headlamps for better illumination, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels for better appearance, PM 2.5 AC filter for cleaner air inside the cabin, and wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay for added convenience. However, it will only be available with the Radiant Red color scheme. Customers can also opt for a contrast black-colored roof for an additional amount of Rs 20,000.

Besides, it retains all the features of RXT trim, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, LED instrument cluster (similar to the Kwid and Triber), rear armrest with cup holders, keyless entry with push-button start, steering-mounted audio controls, rear AC vents, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, rear wiper & washer, electrically adjustable wing mirrors and more. Passenger safety is taken care of by four airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, rearview camera, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Compared to the top-spec RXZ trim, it misses out on Arkamys sound system, driving modes, cooled glove box, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and power-folding ORVMs.

As mentioned above, the new RXT (O) trim will only be available with 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that puts out 72PS and 96Nm. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. For those who aren't aware, the Renault Kiger also gets a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine (100PS/160Nm) with other trims, offered with a 5-speed manual and CVT automatic options.

In the other news, Renault has recently increased the prices of the Kiger sub-compact SUV. It currently retails from Rs 5.64 lakh to Rs 10.09 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), locking horns with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport, and Toyota Urban Cruiser.
