The Renault Duster comes with a more sophisticated 4-cylinder engine with higher displacement than the Victoris’ 1.5-litre unit, which should help deliver better refinement. This also helps the Duster generate more power and torque than the Suzuki offering. Furthermore, it has a larger hybrid battery, which assists in delivering more mileage than the Victoris, atleast on paper.

Author’s Take

On paper, the Renault Duster Hybrid makes a strong case for itself with competitive pricing and a robust hybrid setup that promises better performance and slightly higher fuel efficiency than the Maruti Suzuki Victoris Hybrid. It also has a larger footprint and a well-loaded equipment list. However, how these strengths translate into real-world performance and overall driving experience remains to be seen. Nevertheless, the Duster Hybrid poses a strong challenge to the Victoris Hybrid on paper, and is certainly worth considering for buyers looking for a feature-rich, fuel-efficient mid-size SUV.
