Ola Roadster X Deliveries Postponed Once Again

The much-anticipated Ola Roadster X and X+ have hit another speed bump, with their deliveries being delayed once again. Earlier, their deliveries were supposed to begin in March 2025, which were then first postponed to April 2025, and have now been pushed to May 2025, though a specific date hasn’t been disclosed. The brand has informed the same in their stock exchange filing.

Ola Roadster X Deliveries: Reason Behind Delays

While Ola hasn’t revealed the reason behind repeated delays, reports suggest that it is due to the pending homologation process, which is required to be deemed road-legal under Indian regulations. However, its production has already been started at Ola’s Future Factory in Tamil Nadu.

Govt Authorities Put Ola Under Scanner

Ola Electric is currently being looked into by multiple government departments for several reasons. In the past few months, transport officials have raided Ola showrooms in Maharashtra, Punjab, and Madhya Pradesh, and seized many vehicles. This happened because some showrooms were reportedly operating without trade certificates, which are required by law to sell or offer test drives for vehicles that aren’t registered yet.

Another issue involves the company’s February sales numbers. Reports say Ola counted orders for its Roadster X electric bike — which hasn’t been delivered yet — as part of that month’s sales. It also included sales of its new Gen-3 e-scooters, which only began deliveries in March. The Ministry of Heavy Industries has raised concerns about this, but Ola claims the numbers are based on fully paid orders, not just bookings. In addition, SEBI is also investigating possible issues with Ola’s February sales data, and the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) is also reviewing customer complaints about delivery delays, poor service, and faulty products.
