Ola Electric Scooter Teased, Launch Expected Soon

Ola is all set to foray into the electric two-wheeler segment in the coming weeks, and we believe you are as excited about it as we are. Recently, Ola Electric has shared its new promotional video, which reveals some interesting new things about the upcoming e-scooter.

In the video, Ola Electric's Chairman and Group CEO Bhavish Aggarwal can be seen taking the upcoming e-scooter out for a ride around Bengaluru. While the design details of the scooter were already revealed earlier, what fascinates us this time is its huge underseat storage space that is big enough to engulf two half-face adult helmets.

The video also claims that the upcoming Ola scooter will offer class-leading acceleration, provide supreme ride comfort and superior cornering. While the brand is yet to share its technical specifications, it is reported to feature a non-removable battery pack with a claimed range of around 150km on a full charge. Similar to the Etergo AppScooter (on which it is based), it’s expected to sprint from 0-45kmph in simply 3.9 seconds before hitting a top speed of around 90kmph.

Ola electric scooter launch date

Ola is also working to set up its huge EV charging infrastructure called 'Hypercharger Network' across the country. The brand claims that it will be the largest electric two-wheeler charging network in the world, with more than 1 lakh charging points across 400 cities of the country. Ola has a plan to set up over 5,000 charging points across 100 cities in the first year. Using the Hypercharger network, the upcoming Ola Scooter can be charged up to 50% in just 18 minutes, offering a claimed range of 75km.

The Ola Scooter will be made in India for the world at the Ola Futurefactory, which is coming up in Tamil Nadu on a 500 acres site and has a production capacity of 10 million units per year. Its first phase is nearing completion. Once it will be fully built by the next year, it will be the world’s largest two-wheeler factory.
