The flagship MG Gloster has received its first mid-life update since its launch in October 2020 which adds a few new features to its list, along with a new color scheme and a new set of alloy wheels. With this, the prices of the SUV have also gone up by up to Rs 1.28 lakh.

2022 MG Gloster – What’s New?
- For 2022, the MG Gloster has received some new active safety features for its ADAS suite. These include door opening warnings, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane change assistant. Features like adaptive cruise control, semi-park assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, and driver fatigue alert will continue to be on offer.
- SUV’s connected car tech has also been upgraded (now called i-SMART 2.0) with features like Android smartwatch compatibility via the i-SMART app, enhanced voice recognition (also supports Hinglish), and more useful recommendations in the built-in MapMyIndia navigation system that now integrates the ‘Discover App’ function to find restaurants, hotels, etc. Also, the i-SMART mobile app can now be used as an in-car remote to control the music system, air conditioning system, and the mood-lighting. Earlier only remote control functions were offered.
- The 2022 MG Gloster also gets an all-new British Windmill Turbine-themed 19-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, giving it a refreshed look.
- The SUV also receives a new exterior paint scheme called ‘Deep Golden’, replacing the ‘Agate Red’ shade from its color options.

Aside from the above-mentioned changes, the MG Gloster remains unchanged. It will continue to be equipped with a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment unit, digital driver display, wireless smartphone charger, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, power adjustable driver seat with massage, memory & ventilation functions, auto tilt & heated ORVMs, multiple driving modes (Sport/Normal/Eco), terrain modes, hill-start assists, 360-degree-view camera, traction control, ESC and much more.
At the heart of the MG Gloster is either a 2.0-liter turbo (163PS/375Nm) or a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine (218PS/480Nm), both mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. While a rear-wheel-drivetrain (RWD) is standard across the engine lineup, the latter can also be had with a shift-on-fly 4×4 drivetrain.

In the Indian market, the MG Gloster takes on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4, Isuzu muX, and petrol-powered Skoda Kodiaq.
