MG Excelor EV Name Trademarked In India

MG Motor India has trademarked the “Excelor EV” nomencluture in India, which could be the brand’s next electric vehicle in the country. Currently, MG has two EVs in its Indian portfolio – Comect EV and ZS EV. Details about the MG Excelor EV remains undisclosed.

It’s important to highlight that MG doesn’t offer any model by this name in the global market. Also, a trademark dosen’t gurantee the launch of a particular model, it is just a way to reserve the rights to use that particular moniker. Neverthless, MG has already confirmed to launch two new models this year and one of them will be the Gloster facelift. However, the other one could the Excelor EV. However, there’s no information available yet about its body type and style.

At the 2023 Auto Expo, MG has showcased a range of its global models to see the customer interest. These lineup includes EMG6 (hybrid sedan) eRX5 (SUV), eHS (SUV), and the Marvel R electric (SUV). One of these models might undergo rebrading for the Indian market.

In other news, MG Motor India is all set to announce its future plans on March 20, 2024. Expect the carmaker to reveal some details about its upcoming EV.
