- S-Presso CNG gets a more frugal engine.
- Fuel efficiency improved by 1.43km/kg.
Originally launched in June 2022, Maruti Suzuki has now updated the S-Presso CNG with the new dualjet 1.0-litre petrol engine that promises better fuel efficiency. It is limited to the LXI and VXI trims of the hatch. Here’s a look at their prices: –
S-Presso CNG Variants | Ex-Showroom Price | Premium Over Their Petrol-Only Counterparts |
LXI | Rs 5.9 lakh | Rs 95,000 |
VXI | Rs 6.1 lakh | Rs 95,000 |
As mentioned above, the factory-fitted CNG kit in the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso now comes mated to an updated 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder Dual-Jet petrol engine that makes 56.69PS/82.1Nm in CNG mode, 2PS down from before. However, at 32.73km/kg, the fuel efficiency has improved by 1.43km/kg. It continues to be available with a 5-speed manual transmission. A 5-speed AMT is optional with the petrol-only variants.

Apart from the updated powertrain, no other changes have been made to the car. The S-Presso CNG will continue to get the same equipment list as their petrol counterparts. Features on offer include manual AC, keyless entry, internally adjustable side mirrors, front power windows, an audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, dual-front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, a speed alert system and seatbelt reminder.
Currently, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso CNG has no natural competitors in the market. However, the Tata Tiago CNG and Maruti Celerio CNG can be considered its premium alternatives.
