Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Crosses 1 Million Sales Milestone

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has achieved a huge sales milestone by serving 1 million customers, solidifying its status as India’s best-selling mid-size MPV, with an impressive 37.5% segment market share.

Commenting on the Ertiga’s success, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “The Ertiga has redefined the concept of an MPV as a stylish and technologically advanced offering. It has become a preferred choice for young, tech-conscious customers who love spending time with family & friends, building collective experiences at every stage. The modern appeal of the Ertiga has seen first-time customers for the MPV increase up to 41%, driven by a rise in younger urban customers. It’s also worth noting that 66% of the Ertiga buyers consider it as a pre- determined choice, cementing its picture-perfect appeal as a lifestyle family vehicle. The stylish, versatile and dependable Ertiga is a hit across the country in both urban and rural markets, with an impressive 37.5% segment market share.”

Feature Highlights

Offered only in 7-seater configuration, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga features niceties such as automatic headlamps, front fog lamps, machined-cut dual-tone alloy wheels, a 7-inch Smartplay Pro touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Arkamys surround sound system, Suzuki Connect~ with 40+ features, remote A/C, coloured MID with turn-by-turn navigation assist, cruise control, smart key with push button start/stop, paddle shifters, and 2nd-row roof-mounted AC vents for rear passengers with multiple adjustable air vents and 3-stage speed control, among others.

For passenger safety, it gets dual-front airbags, side airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, electronic stability control, ISOFIX anchors, hill hold assist, and rear parking sensors with a camera.

Powertrain Choices

Powering the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is a 1.5-litre DualJet DualVVT petrol engine that makes 103PS of max power and a peak torque of 136.8Nm. It can also be had with a factory-fitted CNG kit that produces a lower output of 88PS and 121.5Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit. The latter is limited to the petrol model.

Benefiting from Suzuki’s mild-hybrid technology, the Maruti Ertiga returns up to 20.51 km/l with petrol and 26.11 km/kg with CNG model.

Price and Rivals

At present, Maruti Suzuki retails the Ertiga between Rs 8.69 – 13.03 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as an affordable alternative to the Kia Carens.
