Maruti Grand Vitara Side Profile Teased

  • Maruti to unveil Grand Vitara on July 20.
  • Bookings are open officially.

Maruti Suzuki has once again teased its upcoming offering, the Grand Vitara, revealing its side profile that seems largely identical to the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The brand will fully unveil the SUV on July 20. Its bookings are already underway for a token amount of Rs 20,000 at online and authorized Nexa dealerships.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara – What does the latest teaser reveal?

The side profile of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is similar to the Toyota Hyryder, featuring the same doors, sharp shoulder line, chrome beltline, and sloping roofline. However, it is likely to feature a contrasting color element on the C-pillar and differently designed alloy wheels to make it look slightly different from its Toyota counterpart.

Dimensionally, the Grand Vitara will be 4365mm longer, making it 190mm longer than the global-spec Vitara SUV.

A previous leak revealed the upcoming utility vehicle would have a distinctive front and rear design. It is likely to feature a similar sort of grille inserts as the facelifted Baleno, probably with connecting chrome elements. Also, there will be a large air dam on the lower portion of the bumper. At the back, there will be a LED tail lamp setup with a width spanning light bar and a “Grand Vitara” inscription just below it.

As for interior design, the Grand Vitara is likely to get a similar dashboard layout as the Toyota Hrydyer, albeit in a different cabin theme. Nevertheless, the feature list will again be largely similar to its donor model, with key highlights including dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, a heads-up display (HUD), floating touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, 360-degree surround view system, 6 airbags, etc.

Mechanically, the upcoming Maruti Grand Vitara is likely to come with two engine options: a 1.5-liter K15C petrol with a 48V mild-hybrid system and a Toyota-sourced 1.5-litre TNGA petrol with a self-charging strong hybrid system. Their specification will be as follows: –
