Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the Baleno facelift on September 5, 2026. Currently, the mid-size hatchback is in its 2nd generation, which was launched in 2022. While Maruti is yet to share any details about the upcoming hatchback, the spy images of its test mule have revealed a few design details of the upgraded model.
2026 Maruti Baleno Facelift – What To Expect?
- Going by the spy shots, the 2026 Baleno facelift will feature a reworked front fascia, boasting a new grille with a horizontal bar in the centre, flanked by LED headlamps.
- The hatch also features a redesigned bumper and new alloy wheels.

- Inside, the new Baleno is expected to retain the same dashboard layout as the current model, with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system taking centre stage. However, the carmaker is likely to introduce a new cabin theme with revised upholstery, ambient lighting, a rear centre armrest and a single-pane electric sunroof for a more premium appeal.
- Features like automatic headlamps, auto climate control, rear AC vents, wireless charger, a 6-speaker sound system, height-adjustable driver’s seat, heads-up display (HUD), auto-dimming IRVM, and 360-degree camera are expected to be retained from the ongoing model.

Mechanical Changes?
- We do not expect any changes underneath the hood.
- The facelifted Maruti Baleno is likely t to continue with the same powertrain options as the current model, including a 90PS, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine offered with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. Its select manual gearbox variants also get a factory-fitted CNG kit that produces a slightly lower power output of 77.5PS.

Expected Price and Rivals
The Maruti Baleno facelift is likely to command a slight premium over the current model, which ranges between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 9.14 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will continue to lock horns with the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20 and Toyota Glanza.
